The video kindof sucks. It does the flip back/forth between the action and the band which I hate. And it seems that the director read the song as obsessive/compulsive (which it is) but took that to mean "stalker" which really isn't the point at all. The singer has been pretty clear that the song is about facing yourself in the mirror after a breakup.
So ignore the video, and listen to the words of the song. This is one of Stabbing Westwards most well-crafted songs, and every word counts.
