Olympics so far...

I *LOVE* the Winter Olympics. I love snow sports. So I've been trying hard to watch all the events, but watching the Olympics so far goes like this...

12 minutes of an event
interrupt mid-performance for speculation about Michele Kwan
6 minutes of a different event
interrupt for 20 minutes of random idiot on couch talking about Michele Kwan
9 minutes of an event
interrupt mid-performance for 7 minutes of interview with Michele Kwan
15 heavenly minutes of an event
interrupt mid-performance for 35 minute long press conference with Michele Kwan
9 minutes of an event
interrupt for 20 minutes of random idiot on couch talking about Michele Kwan
5 minutes of an event
interrupt mid-performance for 35 minute long press conference with Michele Kwan *AGAIN*

Let's do the math people. Michele Kwan pulled out 2 DAYS AGO. That means she is NO LONGER NEWS and more importantly IS NOT RELEVANT TO THE OLYMPICS ANY MORE. Stop interrupting relevant and important and incredibly interesting performances so that your sidekick armchair quarterback can give his utterly irrelevant opinion about what Michele Kwan is saying.

We don't need a professional opinion to grok I'm hurt, I have to withdraw. Really. It's very simple. And more importantly, you can talk about Michele Kwan for the entire next year if you want. But stop running over live performances with this crap!

This experience is making me realize that I'm really done with the news networks. I wish I had done the research and found someone streaming the performances. I would happily pay to be able to see ALL of the performances that I care about, minus random idiot on coach's opinions...
